Whats the motive of your life...??

In a recent past, I was asked this question by an elderly person. It’s a very rare experience when I come across something which makes my head start spinning, and I guess it was exactly like that….

After conducting so many interviews for so many positions, after mixing up an individual’s personal and professional life to judge if he really deserves the position or not, I never thought of the intensity of this single question…though its very often that we sit in a group of acquaintances and discuss so much about life and possibilities, and often that we put the same kind of question to ourselves and to others, But, I never realized that this question could make me feel the gravity so strong…May be it was the situation which, had me upside down… J

Normally I’ve seen, when people are asked about it in a job interview, they come up with so much of pre-scripted material which makes me think as if the individual is trying to put himself an Amitabh Bachchan to me. Hence I take a back seat and put my soul in an isolated space of mine within myself. But today, it’s about me, it’s about you and it’s about so many individuals who may read this…

Ask this question to yourself and then pen-down your answer on a piece of paper (a white A4 sheet)… but before you do this, I want you to follow a simple instruction and i.e. don’t think about it, do it right away, on immediate basis….And yes, as I always prescribe, keep really honest…

Once you are done, how about having another sheet of paper and staple it along-with your answer sheet…

The next step is not for you, but for your loved ones…reach a few elders whom you really respect and discuss what you’ve written as your answer…..request them to put their point of view on the blank sheet for you…once you are done with 4-5 such inputs, do your analysis….

You’ll be surprised to see, how your knowledge jumps to a different level altogether. They might come up with some simple blessing for you, or, they might come up with some criticism….But one thing’s for sure, it’ll help….

As I love punching my fingers here on this laptop key pad, I can type-in a lot of stuff and tell you the conclusions right away. But for now, I want you all to do this small exercise and let me have your feedback on what you felt and if you too for a surprise out of such a tiny-looking work….

All the Best J
